Privacy notice
Last reviewed: 2 November 2026
Brighter Days respects your privacy. This notice explains what happens to personal information when you visit this website or contact Catherine about home help and befriending.
Who is responsible for your information?
The contact for privacy questions is Brighter Days, run by Catherine. Email: olivenqy@hotmail.co.uk. Telephone: 07950 828086.
Information you choose to provide
The contact form on this website does not send information to a website server. When you select “Prepare email”, your device opens your own email application and prepares a message addressed to Brighter Days. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. Your email provider will handle the message when you send it.
Please do not include detailed medical information, financial information, passwords or other sensitive information in an initial enquiry. If information about support needs is relevant, Catherine can discuss an appropriate and secure way to do so.
How information is used
If you email or telephone Brighter Days, the information you provide is used to respond to your enquiry, discuss whether the service may be suitable, and communicate with you about any support you request. It is not sold or used for advertising.
Lawful basis
Depending on the circumstances, information in an enquiry may be processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an arrangement, or because Brighter Days has a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing its service. Where another lawful basis is required, it will be identified at the point the information is collected.
Cookies and analytics
The supplied website files do not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies and do not include an analytics service. Your hosting provider may create technical server logs as part of operating and securing the website; please consult the hosting provider’s privacy information for details of its logs and retention.
Sharing and retention
Information is not sold. It may be handled by the email and communications providers you use or that Brighter Days uses to communicate with you. Enquiry correspondence should be kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage any resulting arrangement and meet applicable legal obligations. Brighter Days should set and apply a documented retention period for its own email records.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction or objection, and data portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Contact Brighter Days first at olivenqy@hotmail.co.uk; ICO information is available at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when the website or the way enquiries are handled changes. The review date above will be updated when that happens.
